In addition to media relations and strategic marketing solutions, Ilya has expertise in speech writing, internal communications, event planning, copywriting and crisis management. Over the years, Ilya has honed her public relations skills and developed a winning philosophy. Successful PR is about the people behind the “client,” “media,” and “audience.” With a strong emphasis on creativity (helping clients stand out) and strategy (ensuring objectives are met) Ilya remains focused on the people involved.

Prior to starting Welfeld PR, Ilya Welfeld served in management positions in public relations firms and internal communications departments of private and public companies in many sectors. As a vice president in the consumer practice at The MWW Group, one of the country’s largest and most respected pr agencies, Ilya was responsible for spearheading public relations and strategic communications efforts on behalf of Avis and Nikon and other consumer brand clients.

Before joining MWW, Ilya developed a strong expertise in technology pr, serving as director of public relations for GoAmerica Inc., a publicly-traded wireless technology company. There, she launched the pr department and implemented a comprehensive communications strategy that resulted in widespread brand awareness for the NJ-based company.

Ilya developed her skills in guerrilla/street marketing as marketing manager for Pseudo.com where she helped the company attain its status as a notorious streaming media company. Pseudo’s niche programming in women’s interest, political, hip hop, and technology provided the opportunity for developing deep media relationships in these diverse categories.

Her pr career began at Ketchum Communications, one of the world’s leading public relations agencies. There, she managed account work for clients such as Visa, LensCrafters, Maybelline, Hallmark and Intel and developed expertise in consumer education and corporate philanthropy programs.
